On 2nd October I had the pleasure of riding along with 70 other cyclists celebrating Xaxti Riders third anniversary.
It was in August 2017 when a few passionate cyclists of Margao mulled on the idea of starting a Cycling Club with a difference! Realising the benefits of this sport as a fitness go-to activity along with the potential it would offer young citizens of the State, the idea was to make it more accessible to a larger part of the Goan community. And the Xaxti Riders Club under the able leadership of Architect Sameer Nadkarni of Margao came into existence with a formal launch on 01 October 2017 at a ceremony attended by the entire cycling community of Goa and an inaugural ride on 02 October on occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
The anniversary ride was flagged off from Holy Spirit Church Square and went past Rawafond, Paroda, Quepem to Johnny’s Farm House at Caurem in Sanguem taluka about 30kms away, were a scrumptious breakfast was served. The return journey was via the 9 temples, Veroda, Dramapur, Aquem and back.
Amazing ride and a great opportunity to meet fellow cyclists.

When the Holy Spirit Church Square in Margao, Xaxti – Goa saw a burst of colour in the early hours of Friday 02 October 2020 with 70 Xaxti Riders geared up for the anniversary ride!
Xaxti Riders celebrates 3 glorious years of being a very happening cycling club of Goa and were joined today by an Associate partner none other than EEMA (All India Event and Entertainment Management Association) represented by Bab Serrao Francis Soccoro of CROSSCRAFT under their initiative WE CARE.
Our youngest Xaxti Rider Omkar and our youngest-grandmom-on-saddle Xaxti Rider Celsa jointly flagged off 70 riders at 6.20am sharp. A celebrity like feeling with our Xaxti Camera Team and the EEMA team clicking away with their drones buzzing above our heads!
What a flag off!!!!
If Sunday rides have their own moods today s ride had the beauty of nostalgia of many many rides in the last three years, the cozy feeling of being a part of such a large family and the promise of many many more miles together!
A smooth route with sprinkles of elevations along the way and a spot of off roading to reach breakfast point and XR comfort zone…Johnny bab’s Farm House at Caurem in Sanguem taluka. Always good to see and a fantastic place to gather! And it was a good 80 riders who made it here.
EEMA picked the tab for a hearty breakfast of bhaji filled buns, cookies, pattice and carrot cake packed in individual boxes in keeping with Covid precautionary measures. Bananas, every rider s energy booster on the side and XR Adlin’s colourful Xaxti themed cupcakes for this special occasion completed the meal. And of course the cup that cheers…hot tea made by Johnny bab’s super staff.
The EEMA drone buzzed along with the Xaxti drone above capturing the XR spirit and bonhomie. Thank you Serrao bab and your team for breakfast and being a part of our special day!
Camera Team Xaxti had their special moments with Vaughan, Sankalp and Rajay trying out angles and features! You boys really bring out our smiles!!!
3rd Anniversary made even more special with our XR stalwarts Chetan, Placid, Ajay D, Dr.Sujoy and other senior riders who made it a point to be a part of this special day. Dr.Harshad, Debkumar, Abhijit, Edwin manning the support vehicles made the day complete.
A welcome shout to new riders Althea and Lynn! Missed all our riders who are not here and hope to see you when you come!!
Looking forward to many more years of being a part of a crazy, awesome and best family on saddles!
